Jenny Hval unveils more tour dates and video for "Female Vampire"

Remind me again; have we already talked about how DANGEROUSLY SEXXY Blood Bitch (“an investigation of […] the white and red toilet roll chain which ties together the virgins, the whores, the mothers, the witches, the dreamers, and the lovers”) is? And that it’s coming out on September 3o via Sacred Bones? We have, right? Right. Okay great! This is gonna be easy then.

Norwegian artist Jenny Hval has added a few more dates to her giant summer-and-fall-length vampire flight across North America since the last we talked, and she’s also unleashed a FACE-MELTING (seriously, though) new video for the album’s lead single, “Female Vampire.” It was directed by Jenny Berger Myhre and shot, like all fine cinema is in 2016, on an iPhone. It stars Hval and friends, and believe it or not, it’s a nod to “the low budget horror sexploitation films of the late 70’s and early 80’s from which the album was inspired.”

“Usually, the vampire is depicted as a lonesome, all-knowing and ancient creature combining violence, aggressive sexuality and deceitful youth,” Hval says of the clip. “The pack behind the video for ‘Female Vampire’ wanted to explore vampiric eternity in a different narrative: in a group of romancing friends.”

Um. Enticed much, yet? Good! Me too! Check out the video down below. And while you’re at it, pre-order Blood Bitch now; it makes a great gift for that special someone in your life.
