Jim O'Rourke and Oren Ambarchi do the logical thing: team up to make millions on new LP for Editions Mego
An archival photo of O'Rourke working his "day job."

In hindsight, it seems practically inevitable.

Nonetheless, here we are: after toweling themselves off from a nice swim in the money bin, world-famous musical “celebutauntes” Jim O’Rourke and Oren Ambarchi realized that it might be COOL and FUN and WHATEVER if they were to put their respective affinities for noisy-ass-synthesizers and noisy-ass-guitars TOGETHER onto one album of noisy-ass guitars-and-synthesizers yet again… Then, they had their tycoon dads (probably!) pull a few strings to get the resulting album served up to the world at large on the equally world-famous Editions Mego label. Boy, I tell you, readers: some guys just have it easy!

Oh well, though; can’t stop the Capitalist Machine I guess: the pair’s newest collaborative LP, Hence, is coming our way on November 23, like it or not.

Featuring “two side long pieces combining synthesizers, heavily effected guitar tones, and tabla rhythms played by special guest U-zhaan,” this monstrosity was “recorded and mixed at Steamroom, Tokyo 2016” with “additional recording at SuperDeluxe, Tokyo, Nov 10, 2015 by Masahide Ando.” Then, it was “cut by Rashad Becker at D&M, Berlin, September 2017.”

Anyway, once you FINALLY get off work at your 2nd job, consider checking out the excerpt down below, and keep refreshing this page until a pre-order and/or more information appears, like the supplicant and salivating DOG that you are! B-)
