You know, you could say that the damned vikings failed to write much about their very own goddess of land and harvest because of patriarchal bullshit, but there’s also a possibility they were leaving room for Kate Bush to embody that divine role when she came along almost 1,000 years later… (Well, okay; there was probably a lot of patriarchial bullshit involved, too.)
Either way, for many of us, Kate is as deserving of a shrine and late-night sacrificial ritual as any. And now, it seems we’ve finally collectively sacrificed enough small birds and rodents (no? just me?) that she is gracing us with the most tremendous gift of all: a complete vinyl and CD reissue of all her studio albums plus a collection of rarities, singles, and covers.
Hark, sisters, the second harvest is upon us! The vinyl remasters of Kate’s studio albums will be released in four separate boxes. The first two: “VINYL BOX 1” and “VINYL BOX 2,” will be available on November 16, while the latter two: “VINYL BOX 3” and “VINYL BOX 4,” will be available on November 30. The entire set on CD in a double box set will also be available November 16.
Spanning 18 discs total, the collection includes many records that have been unavailable on vinyl for years. The last box set also includes a collection of rarities that have never been released on vinyl, including an entire record of covers. Just a little bit of Valhalla here on Earth…if you have a few hundred bucks to drop, that is…
