Keiji Haino, Jim O'Rourke and Oren Ambarchi continue their avant-garde bromance with eighth collaborative release

Can you hear those screaming teenagers? Sounds like “HainO’RoarChi Mania” is back again: Monsters of electroacoustic improvisation/apparent best friends Keiji Haino, Jim O’Rourke, and Oren Ambarchi are about to drop their eighth (!) collaborative album together. This Dazzling, Genuine “Difference” Now Where Shall It Go? will be released THIS FRIDAY (November 10) via Black Truffle Records.

As the whole world knows, the trio have been tossing off live improvisations at irregular intervals since 2010’s Tima Formosa, which means that their musical relationship has now lasted about as long as (and possibly endured more amicably than) that of The Beatles. This Dazzline, Genuine “Difference”…, which documents an October 2014 live performance, consists of four long pieces which see O’Rourke McCartney-ing it up on six-string bass and EMS Synthi while Haino Lennons-out with guitar and toy piano. Ambarchi — as is more-or-less the norm for these outings at this point — plays the part of Ringo Starr on drums and percussion. (I imagine they make their collective improvisational magic in between such Platonic activities as rounds of hackysack or paintball…which are obviously field-recorded by Ambarchi for use on potential future releases.)

To help you get in the spirit, check out some previous live improv from a few years back down below. And to pre-order the forthcoming album on dazzling, genuine double-LP right now, just follow this link! (OMG, Where shall it go?!?)
