“There’s no place like home…”

Like many of dance music’s greats, Peter M. Kersten (a.k.a. Lawrence) is a traveler. He pops up to grace thriving rhythm labels with his presence in every which way. But it’s his home planet, the minimal-defining label of Dial — the label he helped start in 1999 — that will always be his real base.

Lawrence is on his astral return trip, then, to Dial. He will release his newest full-length record, Illusions on October 5 on the German label. After two records for Mule Musiq, including 2016’s acclaimed Yoyogi Park, Lawrence is taking the influence of his travels — his test tubes and sample of otherworldly sounds — back to the throne.

From Dial:

“A deeply resonant, melodic and altogether transcendent trip, a full-scale but understated soothing of the body and mind, Illusion finds Lawrence reflecting inward, back where he began.”

You can get a full dose of that reflective (yet truly-Berlin) sound with the first single “Treasure Box” streaming below. Then you can join the welcome party by preordering the album on CD or double LP.

Just like the Apollo missions, Lawrence is coming home.
