Heads up, woodchuck chuckers. In an apparent attempt to rival the crazy glitz and incandescent glare of all those Hollywood lights, James Murphy’s LCD Soundsystem — a band (sometimes) — has recently announced that they’ll be leaving the cozy confines of REAL America (a.k.a. New York), and schlepping all their amps and lights and soundsystems and whatnot clear across the country this spring.
The band’s May 4 return to the Hollywood Bowl will feature Yeah Yeah Yeahs plus “special guest TBA” (Everclear? Chili Peppers?), while April 27’s headline at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley will feature support from TV On The Radio. On their way out there, they’ll also be hitting Austin City Limits on February 3 (guess they must be traveling on-foot).
Tickets for the new dates will be on sale to the public THIS FRIDAY, January 26, at 10:00 am local time via the band’s website,
which I believe is still http://www.angelfire.com/music/indie/lcdsoundsystem.com.
Now, here’s some thematically-appropriate music:
