Parquet Courts are back; well, they literally just stepped outside for a second to get some milk, but here they are again with a pint of milk and a new album tucked under their arm.
Forget the milk; you know what milk is. Let’s focus on the album. It’s called Human Performance and is the first full-length album by Parquet Courts since they signed to Rough Trade.
Mixed and produced by band member Austin Brown, Human Performance will be released on April 4 and was written at a time when front man Andrew Savage felt “like a machine programmed to be human showing signs of defect.” So, more anxiety-plagued musings are sure to permeate the album.
The lead single “Dust” is a chuggy little number that weaves its way into a more synthy exploration before literally becoming NYC traffic. You can check out the film clip below and mark your calendar against forthcoming tour dates.
