Not so young folks Peter Bjorn and John announce Darker Days album and North American tour
Extra points if you can guess which one is which.

“Dark” isn’t the first thing that springs to mind when discussing the three men who brought you one of the most infectious whistle-pops in recent history. A lot of growing years have passed since the creators of “Young Folks” were young folks, but, truth be told, there has always been shades of varying darkness to Peter Bjorn and John’s music. Indeed, for close to 20 years, the trio have proven over and over that they can engage joy and pathos, and everywhere in between, very easily.

Darker Days is the eighth album from the trio of Peter Morén, Björn Yttling, and John Eriksson; and it will be released on October 19 via their artist collective/record label Ingrid (founded by PB&J, Lykke Li, and members of Miike Snow and Teddybears, among others). Written soon after the release of Breakin’ Point in 2016, Darker Days sees the band embracing the special songwriting process of the trio, with each member digging deep within themselves, their interpersonal relationships, and outside influences for murky inspiration.

The trio will also be playing several North American headline shows in November/December after they polish off a few select European dates in October. Those tour dates — along with the new album’s cover art — are listed below, but if you’re the sort of person who relishes perusing titles to songs you haven’t yet heard, don’t go dark. You’ll see the light as soon as the Darker Days tracklisting gets announced. Until then…okay, FINE, have a listen to “Young Folks” again. You know you can’t resist it…
