Quin Galavis drops new song in anticipation of new album, My Life in Steel and Concrete

In a post-Swans 2.0 world, Quin Galavis (Nazi Gold, The Dead Space) is a glimmer of hope for aggressive noise rock. And he has just released the first track from his upcoming double LP, premiered by TMT below. My Life in Steel and Concrete features Thor Harris (Swans, Shearwater, Nazi Gold), Sabrina Ellis (A Giant Dog), and more, and will be released August 26 via Super Secret Records.

For his new record, Galavis draws on the dark folk and noise of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, as well as the aggressive sonic textures and experimental orchestrations of Swans. “Hand of Light” proceeds in this vein, blending portentous, reverberating guitars and an abrasive post-punk atmosphere with howling vocals and thundering percussion. Hear “Hand of Light” below.
