Let’s take a leap and endow Rashad Becker with the typical habits of your average label-signed pop musician. His chronically underrated debut album Traditional Music of Notional Species vol. 1 was released last year, so perhaps appreciating his new designation, we can totally forgive him for disregarding the conventional “tour of support acknowledging my recently released album” thing. It’s not like the experimental PAN style lends itself to massive tours anyway, but let’s not forget that Becker also has a genuine occupation outside of creating the most enthralling pieces of miniature plane sounds the world has ever known. Dubplates & Mastering… we wouldn’t want him stepping away for too long.
But equally selfishly, we should want him stepping away for sort-of long! His currently-engaged tour with Eli Keszler will appeal to any fan electroacoustic improv, and how especially fortunate for those living close to Daniel Boone territory. I have no idea how common these sorts of events are for you guys, but damn… luckyyy!
