Red Hare to inflict Little Acts of Destruction next month on Dischord/Hellfire, promise not to mess you up too bad

Better get your old shit-kicking boots out of the storage closet, laced up, and ready to go; you’re gonna need ‘em again. Red Hare — a.k.a. Washington, D.C., melodic hardcore OGs from Dag Nasty, Swiz, and others — will release their second album, Little Acts of Destruction, on May 11 via Dischord and the band’s own Hellfire label.

Red Hare is Shawn Brown, Jason Farrell, Joe Gorelick, and Dave Eight, who have been kicking around the D.C. punk scene playing with one another in various formations since the mid ‘80s. Brown’s somehow both the original singer for Dag Nasty and its reunion tour replacement guy. Drummer Gorelick similarly spent a minute in Farrell and Eight’s band Bluetip without showing up on any recordings. In between, Brown, Farrell, and Eight had all encountered one another in Swiz. And, according to a press release, there’s also a band somewhere in this history called “Sweetbelly Freakdown,” sooo…it looks like these cats have gotten slightly better at naming stuff over the years!

Little Acts of Destruction follows 2013’s Nites of Midnite and a 2016 7-inch. Fellow D.C. hardcore crocodile J. Robbins produced. Pre-order the album here and here, and get a little bit of your shit kicked in advance by streaming the first single “Affirmation” down below.
