To steal some words from a classic “Kids in the Hall” sketch, “Being the owner of a powerboat and speaking a little conversational French, I think it’s safe to say that I understand a little bit about the music industry.”

…Okay, none of that is true, but I know what I like. And I LOVE Richard Dawson! I’m not alone. When we reviewed Dawson’s last album, Peasant, in 2017, we called it his “most direct, nuanced, and haunting creation yet.” And that’s me stealing someone else’s words!

Newcastle’s broken folk eccentric is a true original with a tart sense of humor and worldview, which can be heard in full bite mode on October 11, when Dawson releases his new album through Domino.

Pre-orders and details of the exclusive 2xLP and CD can be found here, and you can stream the video for the album’s first single “Jogging” (directed by Edwin Burdis) down below.

You can take my word that this one is going to be massive, because, “Having been a dental supply salesman for four years and a Merchant Marine for four-and-a-half months, I think it’s safe to say that I know a little bit about the music industry!” B-)
