Closely following Primrose Green, his warmly-received 2015 LP, Chicago singer-songwriter Ryley Walker is already getting ready for the release of another album. Golden Sings That Have Been Sung is set to come out August 19 via Dead Oceans, and it will be Walker’s first record made with the help of a producer, sometime Wilco collaborator LeRoy Bach.
The album’s announcement comes with a fresh single, titled “The Halfwit in Me.” Another trademark Ryley Walker tune, the song further elaborates on the musician’s Tim Buckley-referencing, jazzy takes on folk music, all the while underscoring his proficiency in acoustic guitar fingerpicking.
Walker is going to be one very busy man until the end of the year, too; he will be promoting the new music with 80+ (!) live dates all across North America and Europe. Check out the details at the bottom of the page.
