Cup your hands or cross your arms for the Eucharist of serpentwithfeet's new video from his debut album

I know I may go a bit overboard with all the religious-themed news stories, but they just make it so easy!

And actually, it’s especially easy when talking about serpentwithfeet, the (I think) immortal being who is (I think) cleansing our sins with a brand new video for a brand new song, taken from his upcoming debut LP out June 8 on Secretly Canadian and Tri Angle Records.

serpentwithfeet may have started his musical career as a Baltimore choirboy, but in the video for “bless ur heart” (streaming below via The Fader), he is the master of his cathedral and all ceremonies therein. Bringing his untennably vulnerable voice to new heights, “bless ur heart” is pure splendor.

soil marks a transcendent new territory for serpentwithfeet: the full-length LP. Building off of the congregation he gathered with 2016’s phenomenal blisters, soil finds the gospel experimentalist working with producers mmph, Katie Gately, Clams Casino, and Paul Epworth — one of the mastering experts behind Adele’s 21. If you didn’t already notice, each of those names have a certain reputation for making music that’s downright epic, and it shows on the new single: a prime example of seprentwithfeet’s glorious ability.

If all this epic-ness wasn’t enough to pick you up off your feet and take you to church, you might be able to catch a bite of that tasty Eucharist yourself at one of seprentwithfeet’s newly announced live shows. Check those out below, along with the album’s pristine artwork. When you get back to your pew, go on ahead and pre-order that record right now. Then you can get back to those “sinful activities” I’m always hearing so much about… ;)
