Sieve sign to Fire Talk Records, announce Three Secrets EP, stream new track "Of Course" on TMT

Like their name implies, Philadelphia-based foursome Sieve are a no frills, utilitarian tool with one function: sifting out the gritty sludge of atonal, garage rock clichés and leaving behind fat, golden nugs of weird, atonal basement rippers.

Or maybe they’re like a city of sisterly love — the newly formed avant-rock quartet comprises an all-star underground line-up of Madeline Rafter (a.k.a Snake Boy Gang), Em Boltz (of the dark pop group Corey Flood), Emily Lyons (of the synth project Wilt), and bassist Rachie Weisberg (of Yeah, Baby).

Either way, the supergroup is set to drop its debut EP Three Secrets on May 11 via Fire Talk Records — which is also home to Corey Flood, as well as groups like Media Jeweler, Nassau, and Dehd. The whole EP is a playful aperitif of five songs whizzing by in six minutes. You could literally listen to the entire thing during a morning shower. It takes more time to make avocado toast!

And speaking of toast…string-searing caricatures of funk and burnt-on noise define the EP’s lead single “Of Course,” which you can stream here at TMT today (of course!).

Pre-order Three Secrets now from Sieve’s Bandcamp page, and check out the cover art and tracklisting down below.
