Slowdive announce even more tour dates, make video magic for some publicly funded website
Left to right: still fucking SLOWDIVE.

I have no patience for slowpokes. If I’m behind you as we approach a crosswalk, and you’re not speed-walking to beat the light like it’s the most important moment of your life, you’re a chump, and I don’t respect you. (In fact, I despise you for making me five minutes late today.) Fortunately, Slowdive is more forgiving than I am, because for all the slowpokes and chumps out here in North America who managed to miss the band on tour over the last couple of months, the band will be beneficently returning to our troubled continent for another round of shows this fall.

Unless you’re some kind of freakish, code-red mega-slowpoke, you’re probably at least up-to-speed with the news that, in April, the re-united shoegaze legends released Slowdive, their first new album in 22 years, to rave reviews — including the rare and coveted “4.5-red-circles-out-of-5” from a certain taste-making website. So today, as any independent artist garnering lots of praise is wont to do, the band have released stripped down performance for the suspiciously-hippy-dippy, “publicly funded” media organization known as NPR. They perform album highlight “Sugar For The Pill” inside of a shuffleboard parlor (shuffleboard parlors of course being famed for their excellent acoustics), and Neil Halstead wears a “Surf Liquor” trucker hat. It’s all very quaint. And very awesome.

Check out all of Slowdive’s upcoming tour dates, including their generous new run of North American shows — as well as the clip of their shuffleboard parlor performance for those NPR freeloaders — down below. Slowdive is out now via Dead Oceans.
