[UPDATED] Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips hospitalized, group cancels two festival gigs

Bad news, readers. Steven Drozd, multi-instrumentalist/drummer for The Flaming Lips, has been hospitalized for a currently unknown reason, forcing the band to cancel a couple shows. According to the Palm Beach Post, the group has already axed its appearance at SunFest on April 29 (tomorrow), and Pitchfork reports that the show at the Memphis In May festival on May 1 has also been pulled.

No word yet on Drozd’s status or any future cancellations, but we’ll keep you updated.
