The Stooges reschedule California dates after Iggy Pop breaks his foot... the Godfather of Softness?

Due an injury sustained by front man Iggy Pop, seminal Detroit garage/punk band The Stooges have postponed their West Coast tourdates to early December. Pop is well-known for his stage antics over the years, but it wasn’t the usual rolling in glass or forced vomiting that put him out of commission this time; it was clumsiness. Pop broke his foot during a concert in Romania on August 27 after tripping over a microphone stand. On the advice of his doctor, he is currently resting for 6-8 weeks at his home in the Caymen Islands. This isn’t the first sign the 64-year-old lizard has shown of slowing down in his old age, as just last year he announced his retirement from stage diving.

However, if nothing else, Pop’s attitude toward the situation remains pretty punk rock: “I hate this, I hate like hell to cancel or postpone anything. I only saw the doctor because it hurt so fucking much and I couldn’t fix it myself. Please be patient, I am so excited about these dates on the left coast.” The new tourdates are listed below and refunds are available for original ticket holders.
