Sufjan Stevens tribute album for breast cancer, involving not Sufjan Stevens but Bonnie 'Prince' Billy

Well, Joanna, I spoke too soon. Apparently releasing your own tribute album is neither as rare nor as egotistical as I thought. Either there’s been a trend in the works for some time now, or Sufjan Stevens is copying Joanna Newsom’s charity endeavor. On March 22, a complete cover album of Stevens’ Seven Swans (down to individual tracks, in correct order) will be available through On Joyful Wings.

Like Joanna’s cover album for Oxfam International, the ostensible Sufjan tribute (approved by Stevens, but otherwise devoid of his additional input) will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. With the exception of The Gregory Brothers (who contributed this to the world), what’s with non-Bono musicians being so conscientious all of the sudden?
