Telefon Tel Aviv return with first new album in 10 years, Dreams Are Not Enough on Ghostly

A decade on from their last record, Immolate Yourself, and following the untimely passing of founding member Charles Cooper, Telefon Tel Aviv has returned with a new album. It’s called Dreams Are Not Enough and it’s out through Ghostly International on September 27.

With Joshua Eustis acting as the sole member of this iteration of the project, the new album takes a slightly more personal bent, partially inspired by a recurring dream of his. At the same time, musically, Dreams Are Not Enough is a faithful revival of the project’s spirit, featuring austere electronic grooves doused in a melancholic ebb and flow that build toward “a veiled narrative of loss, anger, and age.”

Listen to album cut “standing at the bottom of the ocean,” check out the full tracklisting below, and pre-order the album here.

01. I dream of it often:
02. a younger version of myself,
03. standing at the bottom of the ocean;
04. arms aloft,
05. mouth agape,
06. eyes glaring,
07. not seeing,
08. not breathing,
09. still as stone in a watery fane.
