Heartwarming fact: Tokyo Police Club is still the same four dudes who first got swept up into a wave of blog buzz in mid-aughts. Think about that. Most of the bands who went through similar experiences to theirs back then have broken up, become revolving doors for sidepersons, or self-destructed down to solo project-dom.

Another heartwarming fact: Tokyo Police Club have announced a slew of fall tour dates. AND they’ve got a brand-new song to precede a brand-new, yet-to-be-announced album, which they recorded in a church in Ontario with Rob Schnapf, who is basically, like, the Rick Rubin of cuddlesome-yet-energetic rawk (by which I mean he has a pretty big beard, per Wikipedia). Schnapf previously worked with the group on their second full-length, Champ, from 2010.

The new album, when the band gets around to releasing it, will be TPC’s first since 2014’s Forcefield. In the meantime, the new single is called “New Blues,” and you can ear-gander at it below, while eye-gandering at the tour dates.
