Tonstartssbandht do basically everything a band can do (release a new album, reissue an old album, go on US tour, teach proper pronunciation of band name)

Go, go gadget workaholic-tendencies! Florida based boogie freaks Tonstartssbandht (pronounced ‘tahn-starts-bandit’ apparently — you’re welcome!) have already crammed about 17 releases into almost 10 years of existence. But now, they’ve apparently determined that 2017 will be their busiest year yet. Here’s the itinerary so-far:

• First, they spent the first few months tripping around Europe to kick up some support for their forthcoming album. Whilst in London they put together this excellent slowed down and freaky DJ mix for NTS Radio.

• Then, they released their first ‘proper’ (and properly excellent) album called Sorcerer on Mexican Summer (check out a sample down below).

• Next, 100% Electronica decided that their out of print 2009 opus An When needs to find more ears, so they’ve just re-released that album on vinyl.

Now, as if all that wasn’t enough, they plan to go on tour with some bloke called Mac Demarco! The tour dates start next week in Burlington, VT and criss-cross basically all of North America before crash-landing in Washington DC at the end of the month.

To quote Inspector Gadget: “wowzers.”
