Trans Am announce short East Coast tour, create sense of contrast with lengthy career

For the past 20 years, Trans Am have been out there. If you, like me, were a child of the late 80s, you’ve barely known a time when Trans Am weren’t a band. You probably have also never thought of it that way and will likely continue not thinking of it that way. Doesn’t change facts: Trans Am have had a lengthy, successful run that continues being lengthy and successful. Over the years, they’ve played hundreds of live shows. This April, they will have played hundreds plus four live shows.

Trans Am’s power weekend (a power weekend begins on a Wednesday, in case you didn’t know) features shows in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Baltimore, before capping things off with an appearance at Winston-Salem’s Phuzz Phest. That last stop finds the group playing alongside Protomartyr, Ex Hex, Mac McCaughan, and Cymbals Eat Guitars, among others. Last year, Trans Am put out Volume X, their appropriately-titled 10th album.
