Turkish Trap artist Sami Baha announces debut EP on Planet Mu

Naomi Klein and her buddies might be quick to bemoan globalization, but they clearly haven’t been treated to the aural experience of Turkish producer Sami Baha or his debut EP Mavericks.

You see, despite the numerous drawbacks — like the erosion of distinct cultural identifiers — if it weren’t for globalization, it would be impossible to imagine how a producer like Baha could create a trap-meets-Arabesk record that reflects the chaotic political climate of Turkey at present or that such a creation would find a home on British label Planet Mu.

Both those things are true though. You will be able to get a copy of Mavericks yourself on April 1 and listen to it as you read Hardt and Negri’s Empire, because you’re postmodern like that.

Mavericks tracklist:

01. Mavericks 1
02. Still
03. Dough
04. Tozko Paran
05. Cataphract (ft. Kuedo)
06. Chunk
