Yo La Tengo come out swinging with four songs off new album There’s a Riot Going On

Last we heard from Yo La Tengo, the iconic indie rock band who may or may not understand how the Spanish language works, they had just announced a slate of 2018 tour dates throughout North America and Europe.

So here I am, minding my own business, not expecting any new Yo La Tengo news to come across the proverbial desk when, BAM! A new Yo La Tengo song catches me right across the chin. Then POW! Another, right smack dab on the bridge of my nose. The worst feels over…until SNARG! A third gets me in the eye. A fourth one comes in a flash: WAFFLE! But I’ve already dodged it by way of being knocked right out of my chair, to the floor.

When I come to, my head is pounding, blood is streaming out of my nose, the vision in my right eye is blurred, and my left sock has somehow flown off even though I’m wearing sneakers. Where did these four songs come from? What do they WANT??? But then it hits me. Not literally this time thankfully, but in the form of a message:

• New Yo La Tengo album.
There’s a Riot Going On.
• March 16.
• On Matador Records.

Can’t say I agree with the means of delivery, but hey, that’s still great!

If you also think that that’s great too, then head here to pre-order There’s a Riot Going On now. If you still need a little more convincing, you can listen to all four new songs from the album down below (where you can also see the album’s artwork and full tracklisting!) And if you know where a guy can get some good discounts on band-aids and anti-inflammatory drugs, don’t be a stranger.
