♫♪  Charli XCX - “Gone [ft. Christine and the Queens]”

“Next Level” Charli XCX is just around the corner, with her beautifully-titled third album, Charli. Are you prepared? What will you do September 13 when she drops the album and you haven’t adequately prepped yourself to deal with the emotional consequences? Do you have the physical stamina to handle 15 bangers in a row? What system will you have in place should your body respond negatively to too much good music? Or, who knows, what if it’s TERRIBLE, to the point that even your Charli-stan friend Sam think it sucks?!

Thankfully, Charli’s easing us in — first up was “1999,” second was “Blame It On Your Love.” Today, we have the third ease-in, titled “Gone,” which features a guest spot from Christine and the Queens (a.k.a. Chris a.k.a. Héloïse Adelaide Letissier). From Charli (baby):

THIS SONG IS ABOUT FEELING ISOLATED AND ALONE IN CROWDED ROOMS, THE FEELINGS OF ANXIETY AND LEARNING TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH WHO YOU TRULY ARE. ITS ABOUT BREAKING DOWN AND BREAKING FREE

Check out the video for “Gone” above, even if it’s just to find out why Charli called it her “most favorite video” she’s ever made.
