Atticus & Leopold Ross + The Haxan Cloak's Bobby Krlic score documentary Almost Holy
still from Almost Holy

Esteemed composers Atticus and Leopold Ross (The Social Network) have teamed up with The Haxan Cloak’s Bobby Krlic on the atmospheric, experimental soundtrack for Almost Holy. Out August 19 as an LP and a digital release, Sacred Bones is sharing the video for track “Punching Bag,” which you can watch below.

The documentary follows Ukranian pastor Gennadiy Mokhnenko, who runs the Pilgrim Republic rehabilitation center in the former Soviet Union nation. The country is faced with a growing crisis of homeless youth (children, in many cases) who are addicted to a deadly injected cocktail of cold medicine and booze. Mokhnenko works to save these kids, sometimes even forcibly abducting them to get them into his rehab facility.

With the Ross brothers in the US and Krlic in England, the team worked separately at first, with Krlic eventually emigrating to the US and meeting the brothers at Atticus’s studio to complete the album. Directed by Steve Hoover, the film will be available in UK cinemas on August 19 and available digitally and on-demand in the States on August 16.
