Offices almost universally suck. Like, there’s nothing good or worthwhile about having to be in one. Hell, you’re probably bored out of your mind in an office right now, taking a much-deserved mental health break to catch up on what’s new in “the musics.”

Well, what’s new is “Secretary,” a collaboration between Cate Le Bon and Bradford Cox off their forthcoming collaborative EP — and fourth in Mexican Summer’s Myths series — Myths 004.

“Secretary” is Le Bon and Cox’s hymn for the beleaguered office worker, messing up their eyesight and back in equal measure, filling in needless spreadsheets while hunched over the keyboard with minimal lumbar support behind them. It conjures a “surreal and beautiful daydream,” one where the mundane day-to-day grind is left behind in a haze of mascara-brushed plains and disconnected phone calls.

Listen to “Secretary” and check out the full tracklisting and artwork for Myths 004 down below. The EP itself is — as you might have guessed — the fourth in a series of collaborative EPs from Mexican Summer that includes prior entries from Dev Hynes and Connan Mockasin, Weyes Blood and Ariel Pink, and Dungen and Woods. Additional contributors include Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, Sweet Baboo’s Stephen Black, White Fence’s Tim Presley — who previously collab’d with Le Bon on last year’s DRINKS — and Samur Khouja. (Le Bon and Cox also worked together on this year’s Deerhunter release Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?.)

Myths 004 is out November 1 via Mexican Summer and can be pre-ordered here.
