Danny Perez has worked on music videos for Black Dice and Animal Collective, including the latter’s visual album ODDSAC in 2010. Anyone familiar with his work knows he can mix horrific and psychedelic images with a collage of sound. For his debut horror film Antibirth, Perez has enlisted Black Dice member Eric Copeland to do the score, according to FilmMusicReporter. Some people might say that’s favoritism, but that’s what Hollyweird is all about, bro — friends hanging out (see: Adam Sander in anything).

Antibirth stars Natasha Lyonne, Chloë Sevigny, Mark Webber, Meg Tilly, and Maxwell McCabe-Lokos, and, according to IMDB, the film is about, “a stoner struggling to get a grip on reality while stories of conspiracy spread in a desolate community full of drug-addled Marines and rumors of kidnapping.” So is Chloë Sevigny friends with Perez, Copeland, and Animal Collective? If she wasn’t before, she is now. A new frat pack is evolving, and I’m guessing we can expect to see this group of goofballs in an upcoming The Hangover reboot.

In the meantime, try syncing Copeland’s Slim Twig remix of “Slippin’ Slidin’” to the death scene from Bone Tomahawk to see if this guy really has the horror-scoring chops.
