Ital and Hieroglyphic Being team up to form Interplanetary Prophets, release an EP, and save the galaxy

Daniel Martin-McCormick and Jamal Moss must have become BFFs last year. Better known as Ital and Hieroglyphic Being, respectively, the two toured together last year and collaborated for a set at New York’s Unsound festival but just can’t seem to get enough of each other. The two have formed up like Voltron The Wonder Twins Mark Twain and Nikola Tesla to blow your mind this summer.

The duo, working under the name Interplanetary Prophets, is set to release an EP titled Zero Hour on July 15 via the fine people at Planet Mu. While the seeds of the collaboration were planted at Unsound last year, the EP itself draws from prolonged studio sessions from earlier this year that have been edited down to three long, dense pieces of music.

While rooted in techno, the record takes its cues from each of the two artists’ repertoires as well as incorporating elements of early post-punk electronic acts and meditative chant, while of course remaining forward thinking. Plus, given the first track’s title, someone’s been reading some William Gibson. The EP is guaranteed to be atmospheric and spacey, tapping into The Power Cosmic in a way only these two can.
