David Copperfield, David Blaine, other great magicians named David: none of them could perform the greatest of all magical feats. That, of course, is the feat of turning a garden into a club. The nature of these two locations is simply too disparate for one to ever transform into the other. Well, I mean, that’s what we all thought before the greatest illusionist of all came along. That illusionist is Jam City, and he will perform the impossible with his new EP Earthly Versions out October 2 in the UK and October 16 in the USA through Night Slugs.
How will Jam City perform this trick? My dear, a magician never reveals his secret. But I’m not a magician, so I’ll tell you: by reworking a pair of tracks from his intriguing new album Dream A Garden into bass-heavy, club-friendly renditions. It was so simple that David Copperfield must feel like an idiot! As an encore/showboating, Jam City has also cooked up a brand new track titled “Dream ‘15” to cap off the EP. Jeez, Jam City. You just dismantled all of magic. Isn’t that enough?
