Jason Lescalleet's Glistening Examples label releases two new albums TODAY to help offset your inevitable Tuesday evening road rage
The many facets of Lescalleet

Hey, you know how you just can’t-THE-FUCK-stop complaining about how “new albums never come out on Tuesdays anymore like they used to!” (or, wait…is that me that’s always doing that)? Hmm…well, either way, that fine, generous, and glistening example of a human being Jason Lescalleet has heard your/my/our irrational lamentation “loud and clear” and has decided to do something characteristically “soft and murky” about it.

And so, with all the gentle power of his Glistening Examples imprint, he’s just opened his gentle palm and released two new soft, float-y, downy feathers into the Tuesday wind. First up, we have Darren McClure’s Nature Mirror, comprised of four impressionistic vignettes which were “composed and recorded during late spring 2017, as the rice fields of Nagano [Japan] were being filled with water and planted” in a process known as “waking up the fields.” According to McClure, “stillness, parallel lines, and nature are represented in the music, just as clouds and mountains are reflected in the flooded fields.”

Next, there’s TIME + PLACE, a recondite, contemplative, and fog-enshrouded new offering (also comprised of four long-form tracks) from the Vancouver, BC-based composer Joda Clément. Both albums were mastered by Lescalleet himself (for MAXIMUM, LOUDNESS WAR-PULVERIZING POWER!) at his Glistening Labs, USA and are stream-able down below.

If you like what you hear, pick up Nature Mirror right here and TIME + PLACE over here. And if you’re feeling really nostalgic for the old “New Music Tuesday” effect, pick up both albums’ physical CD editions — both of which also come with some stupifyingly serene photography and design action. You’ll have more soothing new music than you can possibly listen to on your evening commute in no time flat.

Ahhh; I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling a little better about Tuesday already…
