Make no mistake! LAKE release new album Forever or Never TODAY, premiere “Work With What You Got” video
Did you like how we avoided the "LAKE makes a big splash" headline? Pretty good, right?

Chances are that if you’re on this site, you’re almost certainly single.

Fear not, doleful men (and our seven female readers)! You can get the upper hand on all those miserable coupled-folk and become the “darling of the single set” by spending just a few minutes today with your merry matchmakers at Tiny Mix Tapes. Information is everything. All you have to do is read some words and watch some images, and then everyone will realize that all the good ones are NOT taken yet when you impress them with the news that not only is there a new album out now by Washington-born band LAKE, but that you have already seen-the-shit-out-of the video for “Work With What You Got!” Companionship, love, or Friday night nookie awaits. You’re welcome.

After a dozen years and a dozen-minus-four albums (that’s eight: a “postal worker’s dozen,” I think they call it), it has become painfully obvious that there is something different in the water in the Pacific Northwest. F’rinstance, comparing the laid-back pop musics created by the LAKE quartet of Ashley Eriksson, Eli Moore, Markly Morrison, and Andrew Dorsett to those issued by artists elsewhere in this country/continent/hemisphere/planet is like comparing apples to road apples.

So, it is with much pride that we premiere the Sarah Hanssen-directed, Fleetwood-indebted “Work With What You Got” video, in all its split-screen, domesticity/convalescence-themed glory below! The track is taken from the new album Forever or Never, which is out on Tapete Records today (April 7).

Oh, and by the way: after this post finally scores you the romantic partner of your dreams, LAKE will also be playing some shows this month in WA (starting with an album release extravaganza tonight), followed by a “postal worker’s dozen” or so fall dates in Germany, any of which would make for a perfect place to go on your first date. You’re welcome AGAIN.
