MarQ Spekt & Blockhead detail new release Keep Playin', share posse cut
Cover Art: C. Flux Sing

HiPNOTT Records, the label that brought you 2014’s JustPlayWitIt, a collaborative album by Grilchadelphia MC MarQ Spekt and NY producer Blockhead, will be releasing its follow-up on August 19. The long-awaited Keep Playin’ will be available on CD and digital, with artwork once again being handled by C. Flux Sing.

You might remember reading about Keep Playin’ in Tiny Mix Tapes’s interview of MarQ Spekt, a conversation focused primarily on the collectible nature and timeless appeal of great musical artifacts. As it turns out, JustPlayWitIt, though mentioned only a few times in that discussion, has aged like a supernaturally flavored fine wine that can transform its variety with each pour. (And only two copies of the CD are still available, so get it now and don’t say we never did anything for you.)

In support of the album announcement, HiPNOTT premiered Keep Playin’s first single via XXL. Named for the recently remade Kathryn Bigelow classic, Point Break features longtime Spekt collaborator HPone (f.k.a. Huey P. Capone f.k.a. Nyce), fellow Philly Lo-Lifes Da Buze Bruvaz (Clever One and Him-Lo), and upcoming Griselda Records representative Conway.

Stream below and download free with your pre-order of Keep Playin’, available now via Spekt’s Bandcamp.
