Mastodon and Dinosaur Jr. cancel North American tour

Mastodon and Dinosaur Jr. cancel North American tour

Mastodon and Dinosaur Jr. were due to head out on a tour of North America together, starting tomorrow in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was shaping up to be a collaboration of Pleistocene and Jurassic periods the likes of which humanity had never before experienced.

Unfortunately, the entire tour has now been cancelled, “due to a critical situation of a member of the Mastodon family.” Not much else is known at this time, including if and when the tour will be rescheduled. Full refunds are available however, for all tickets and VIP upgrades.

Per Consequence of Sound, in a now-deleted Facebook post, Mastodon confirmed the tour cancellation, stating that they, “would like to extend their sincerest thanks to their loyal fans as well as the fans of Dinosaur Jr. for their support and understanding at this time. The band hopes to make up these shows at a future time, but as of now, no plans for rescheduling have been set.”

You can read Dinosaur Jr.’s full statement on the cancellation below.
