Peder Mannerfelt pops back up Mario-style with new EP, Transmissions From A Drainpipe

After releasing his third full-length under his own name earlier this year, you might expect that the erstwhile Subliminal Kid and Roll the Dice member Peder Mannerfelt might want to just kick back, relax, and play a few casual 8-bit videogames to wind-down 2016.

Instead, the Swedish, analog-electronics experimenter has decided to take the (arguably) less-easy but more-fun tack of putting out a new EP on his own eponymous label, Peder Mannerfelt Produktion (which also handled the release of this spring’s Controlling Body LP).

It’s called Transmissions From A Drainpipe, and it’s due November 15 as a 12-inch and digital release. According to the label, Mannerfelt’s newest “follows themes established via Controlling Body, while also combining them with the kinds of “driving, rave-influenced flavours” that can probably only truly be matched by the psychotropic experience of licking a wet, moldy drainpipe.

And while (not gonna lie) I’m not personally prepared to go and do that, exactly, I WILL happily approximate a similar heady rush of clang-y, bang-y delirium by previewing the EP’s second track “Public Images” in the comfort of my own Daffy Duck slippers down below. Join me, won’t you?

Transmissions From A Drainpipe EP tracklist:

A1. Joan @ The Rave
