Perc and Truss get dirty on upcoming Perc Trax EP Two Hundred

You’re reading this website, so you probably know that we sometimes tire of cleanliness. Sometimes, despite the accumulated soap products that we’ve purchased in order to make us smell as if God and Mr. Clean fused colons and let out one hell of a huffable fart, we like to deliberately (and figuratively) smash mud sandwiches in our pristine classmates’ faces. And it’s no use trying to deny this feeling when it comes to our listening habits, as we’re all familiar with the repellence of overproduction common both in and outside of pop music. Thankfully, UK producers Perc (Alistair Wells, who released this year’s incredible The Power and The Glory) and Truss (Tom Russell) are here to cater to our whims, collaboratively once again, with some dirty, dirty techno.

The 12-inch Spiker, released last August, is now being followed up by a new EP, Two Hundred, on July 14. Like the former, each track on the EP was recorded in one take, allowing for the inclusion of “happy mistakes” and “bizarre unexplainable audio artifacts,” which nonetheless assuredly didn’t stem from any sort of supernatural presence. Sorry, ghost hunters, your beliefs still aren’t justified!

Have a listen to some previews below. Dig the use of analogue electronics, but appreciate the fact that we’re a looooong way from the sine wave.
