Q-Tip confirms new album from A Tribe Called Quest, out before you can stop hyperventilating

A couple of months ago, L.A. Reid of Epic Records made the reasonably authoritative announcement that a new album from legendary rap outfit A Tribe Called Quest would be unearthed on us “very soon.” Nobody actually in the group had a word to say on the subject though, so some mystery remained as to when and if that album would actually arrive, skeptical as some of us can (and should) be of pronouncements made solely by labels. Were Reid’s comments about the whole group (including the late Phife Dawg) appearing on the album just part of a needless ploy to get us “buggin’ out”? Was a performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in November 2015 the actual and anticlimactic end to the Tribe’s influential journey?

In the theoretical words of Q-Tip: “No! And here’s a note uploaded to Twitter that gives zero doubt about the upcoming release.” Check out the unmistakable words of Tip himself in the genuine note below, and for scheduling purposes, pay special attention to the given date of November 11. That’s when the new and ultimately last ATCQ album will hit the digital and physical shelves, more than 18 years since The Love Movement.
