Sharon Van Etten's first scored feature film Strange Weather to storm into theaters at the end of the month
"Yeah, I'm totally friends with David Lynch, no big deal."

Significantly increasing her prospects of establishing herself as a “slashie’”(along with the luminaries including Fabio and Bette Midler), “American singer-songwriter” Sharon Van Etten has announced her first foray into feature film soundtrack work with her score to the upcoming Strange Weather film, which is slated to hit weatherless, indoor, climate controlled cinemas on July 28.

This news comes hot on the heels of Van Etten’s work in the reboot of Twin Peaks and the Netflix series The OA.

Strange Weather has already done the rounds of the film festivals and picked up “Official Selection” status in Toronto, The Hamptons and Provincetown — along with rave reviews, including the praise of a little rag called the Hollywood Reporter, who thought “the authentic-feeling Southern ambience, enhanced by Sharon Van Etten’s low-key, country-inflected score, is one of the film’s most potent assets.” And that’s the Hollywood Reporter! They know a thing or two about “authenticity!”

There’s no news yet on whether the soundtrack will be getting a standalone release, but you can check out a trailer to the film if you just click right here…LOL JUST KIDDING there’s also totally a slightly-different trailer than that embedded right down below PLEASE DON’T LEAVE TMT.
