Have you ever been listening to your favorite album and thought, “I wonder what this would taste like if it were an alcoholic beverage?” Me neither.*

But the dudes in Sunn O))) apparently contemplated that question in relation to their 2014 collaboration with Scott Walker, Soused, and decided to find out. Pursuing the idea with Right Proper, Stone, and Pen Druid breweries, the group has found an answer in the form of a 7.0% IPA that contains Nordic yeast. It seems that the beer—also called Soused—had a release party yesterday (April 11) and is going to be available in New York, Maryland, and Virginia soon.

If you don’t live near the east coast of the United States, though, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered: below is a pretty sick track from Soused that should give you a good idea of how this beer will taste. Just close your eyes and take it in. Let its aroma fill your nostrils. Swish it around in your mouth a bit, thinking about its notes and how it feels in your mouth. Then, swallow. Boom. You’ve basically already had this beer now.

*As a thought experiment, I did just conceive of a Yeezus pizza that would use a giant croissant instead of pizza crust, and its ingredients would be kale, basil, hot peppers, and olives. Any takers? Dominos? Papa John’s? Email me and we can hammer out the detail$.
