Supergrass reunite for tour and king-sized career retrospective box set
Last one on the tour bus is a piece of shit.

Likely the most underrated of Britpop’s celebrated first tier, Oxford-bred, Gaz Coombes-fronted Supergrass are reuniting for an “impossible” tour and a career retrospective box set. Following a surprise reunion show at Glastonbury Pilton Party, as well as an intimate performance recently in a Hackney club, the band will get back on the road in February 2020. Supergrass: The Strange Ones 1994 - 2008, an expansive recap of Supergrass’ six-album-spanning career, is out January 24, 2020.

Supergrass released five consecutive Top 10 albums in the UK and scored a massive international singalong hit with “Alright.” The group disbanded in 2010, citing musical differences, but felt excited enough to play their old songs again and is giving it another shot next year. The tour will be limited to about a dozen theater dates, including shows in Paris, New York, and Los Angeles, and tickets go on sale Friday, September 13.

The retrospective box set, on the other hand, is gargantuan. Available to pre-order now, it will include the band’s six original albums on picture disc LP and CD, as well as seven (!) other CDs filled to the brim with B-sides, remixes, demos, live takes, and never-before-heard material (not to mention posters and button badges). One of the previously-unreleased songs off the release is a cover of The Police’s “Next to You,” which you can stream below:
