Okay; someone tell all the 12-year-old, ink-stained slave laborers that currently operate all the presses to stop them again! Ever out in front of the crowd, the handsome, winsome, post-everything foursome known conventionally here on planet Earth as “The Animal Collective” have once again shifted the whole goddamn paradigm (yeah, you know, that one) with the announcement of a brand-new music video for what was apparently the only song on Centipede Hz , “Monkey Riches.” It was directed by Jack Kubizne (who also directed the video for “Brothersport”) and captures the zeitgeist of August 2013 perfectly through its highly-believable portrayal of a suspiciously groovy wizard who nonetheless can’t seem to get out of bed (did someone say “relate-able”?) . Don’t worry; I’ll use a technique invented by the band called “embedding” to share the video with you down below.
Oh, and they’ve also announced that they’re rescheduling all those dates that they innovated the cancellation of earlier this summer. So check out those new dates down there too while you’re at it and get your tickets to the future of live multimedia exhibitions in America while they last.
