Bing & Ruth sign to 4AD, continue feathering our ears with new album No Home of the Mind

In an interview conducted by former TMTer David Harris, composer David Moore remarked on the recent dual emotional reactions to his Bing & Ruth project. Somehow he forgot to mention the shared characteristic: Tomorrow was the Golden Age is (in this writer’s opinion) one of the most astonishingly beautiful albums of the 2010s, regardless of whether or not the seven-piece made you grin or sob uncontrollably. Perhaps we’d all submit ourselves to hellfire if Satan played tracks such as this one on an eternal loop, and now, no doubt buoyed by the almost-universal praise that Tomorrow received back in 2014, some evolutionary happenings are in full-swing.

First, Bing & Ruth have signed to 4AD after their previous effort on RVNG Intl., and a related second, a new album has been just announced for not-too-distant propagation. No Home of the Mind is out February 17, and consistent with the roster’s ongoing mutability since the project began, the album was crafted through the creative hands of a smaller five-piece, with David Moore remaining at the helm.
