Bobby Conn, warrior king of Chicago musicians, announces Macaroni LP, named after warrior king of pastas

Macaroni — it’s an old friend for those who like to eat food, yet do not have money. Even though it generally costs the exact same amount as any other kind of pasta, the appealing shape of macaroni makes it seem like a value. As a person without money, I can confidently say that macaroni is the king of all super cheap foods. Much like macaroni, Chicago music fixture Bobby Conn is always there for you. He may be somewhat more expensive, he may not taste delicious covered in melted cheese, but the guy is there for you.

Hence why he’s putting out a new record called Macaroni on April 3 through Fire Records. Conn mixed the record himself, while he recorded the album with his backing band The Burglars. Like much of Conn’s music, the new record is meant to reflect the events and news of our current moment in time. Or, as his press release puts it, it is “a record for the Occupy generation or, at least for those of us who check in on the protests via Facebook.” Why don’t you go listen to “Underground Vktm” from this new record? Go ahead, do that.
