Galcher Lustwerk and Alvin Aronson form Studio OST, announce release

SCVSCV apparently would agree with me; loyal perusers of TMT might’ve been kept out of the loop on this one, and for that, we apologize. The 100% Galcher mix from Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Galcher Lustwerk was a universally-considered (among those who had heard it) musical highlight of 2013, and the fact that such a quality contribution to deep house was made so early in Galcher’s career inspires giddiness among those who follow these sorts of things. The pressure may be on for him to release something new and of a similar qualitative magnitude in the near future, but in the meantime, he and his newly-established Lustwerk Music are content to recollect a bygone age: the years 2012-2015, when, really, nothing much at all happened anywhere. A meteor hit the Earth, maybe.

Galcher and Alvin Aronson have both released work on White Material, so the assumption that they have their own handshake honoring their friendship would only be a slight exaggeration. Studio OST is the name of their new collaboration, and their first release courtesy of Lustwerk’s label (which was initially formed as a “formality”) is composed of tracks that the two recorded in jam sessions over the indicated four-year period. Scenes 2012-2015 covers the same smoothly danceable, coitus-soundtracking terrain that both producers capably traverse. Check it out for delving purposes when it’s released in “late March.”
