Occasionally we all have a hard time following our own advice. I keep warning my friends about how dangerous it is to weave in and out of traffic while blasting the Mario Kart Star Power music through the car speakers, but I’ve been known to reenact Mario moments in my own hazardous way. I don’t have immediate access to fireballs, so I walk around in suspenders and throw orange water balloons at people. It’s wrong and I know it, but can you blame me for wanting to live out my fantasies?
Nate Young of Wolf Eyes fame is surely living out his fantasy as an artisan of noise, and for that reason, we shouldn’t harp on the fact that he’s chosen not to Stay Asleep. Instead, he and the equally deranged (though less enveloping [not in a bad way]) Drainolith are doing the veritable opposite: touring the Eastern half of the continent beginning at the end of this month. They’re touring, and they’re each premiering a couple of new tracks with us (stay tuned!!). Clearly they’re awake, but don’t be surprised if their performances live on through your nightmares.
That last line was intentionally cheesy, by the way.
