Man, what a night it must have been. All of the administers at the Red Bull Music Academy had finally finished sorting through all 6000 applications for their 2014 Tokyo edition. But shit, they all sounded so damn good. How can a few admin really decide who gets to take in all the incredible lectures, workshops, and performances that make up the annual RBMA? There is only one way — “Red Bull, all night. Let’s sort this shit out.”
Looks like that approach worked pretty well. RBMA Tokyo just announced their final “Class of 2014” roster; the 60 participants represent 34 different countries, including a solid eight representing the good ol’ US of A. American experimenters like Zebra Katz and former Dirty Projector (Angel) Deradoorian will be joined by Istanbul-based experimental/noise artist Ipek Gorgun and Parisian singer/producer Lafawndah. Tokyo glitterbug Sapphire Slows will lead the charge of hometown heroes. Chug some taurine and scope the whole list of 2014 participants here.
