Despite not yet having achieved the technology required to transmit visual images over the FM or AM band, TV on the Radio have over the years bravely pressed ever onward into the technological development breach, most recently on 2014’s Seeds, an album that followed 2011’s Nine Types of Light, which, itself, because of how time works, followed 2008’s Dear Science. However, quite unfortunately, due to a “health emergency” on the part of the group’s drummer Jahphet Landis, the band has been forced to cancel the upcoming European leg of their tour in support of Seeds.
In a statement from the group, they say of Landis, “he will be ok but is not able to travel at this time.” Of a piece with this, though the European dates have been cancelled, the group’s recently-expanded US tour that begins in March is still on the books. Here’s to a speedy recovery for Landis and to many happy returns for the group as they continue to explore the dark hinterlands of extant technology that may one day afford us the opportunity to watch re-runs of Everybody Loves Raymond on our father’s homemade pile of wires and metal that he uses to talk to truckers!
